Programs

Kode With Klossy is a community centered around learning experiences at the intersection of technology & creativity.

CAMPS

Kode With Klossy’s flagship program provides the opportunity for young women, gender nonconforming and trans scholars around the world, ages 13-18, to attend free two week bootcamps that introduce them to key computer science concepts and skills. Scholars collaborate to explore the limitless potential of code and computer science.

01

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE & MACHINE LEARNING

Artificial Intelligence plays a crucial role in today's technology and is an integral part of our daily lives. This program empowers scholars with the knowledge to understand the fundamentals of AI while equipping them with the context to address bias as they progress in their tech careers. Scholars have hands-on experience designing image classifiers and training machine learning models using the CreateML framework.

02

WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT

What does it take to build a website? This curriculum is focused on building dynamic websites using 3 programming languages: JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. Scholars also learn the importance of responsive design, accessibility, and how to improve the UI (user interface) and UX (user experience) of a website.

03

DATA SCIENCE

Data is all around us. In this curriculum, scholars examine data and draw meaningful insights through the use of SQL, Python, and data visualization tools. By the end of camp, scholars will build a visualization of a topic they are passionate about using data.

04

BEYOND CODING

Scholars will also have the opportunity to hear from inspiring speakers at every intersection of technology. From CEOs to astronauts to grad students to entrepreneurs, speakers join camps to share their stories, and to show the vast possibilities that exist for tech.

In addition to coding, scholars engage in conversations around the Culture of Technology. These sessions prompt participants to consider what tech looks like now, providing real-world context to the status quo of STEAM, business and beyond, and challenges them to picture a better future.

While they're also completing a rigorous, immersive curriculum, they also experience the whimsy of camp magic through Brain Breaks, photo challenges, and other community building activities.

CHALLENGES

CODE-A-BRATIONS are Kode With Klossy’s 2-day offerings. Over the course of a single weekend, participants learn to code a full project, present, hear from amazing mentors, play party games, and celebrate the power of code.

No prior coding experience is required! This event is built for beginners and intermediate coders. Advanced coders are welcome to join us to refresh their skills, share their experience, and make new friends, but the material will mostly be a review.

SPEAKER SERIES

We host coding challenges asking big questions for our alumni to tackle and to highlight their programming skills. Previous big questions include:

  • Coaches need a destination at the intersection of URL & IRL. How can Adidas create a space that inspires the next generation to coach, connect, and create change in their communities?

  • Kode With Klossy and SAP believe that technology can play a key role in improving peoples’ lives. Together, we will turn our shared beliefs into meaningful action. What does this meaningful action look like to you?

04

ALUMNI EVENTS

From 1:1 mentorship from LinkedIn employees to strengthen your profile to how to nail your technical interview straight from a technical recruiter, our alumni have exposure to incredible ongoing opportunities to deepen and broaden their learning.

ALUMNI EVENTS

Inspirational leaders in technology join us to share their experiences with our community for year round inspiration and learning. From CEOs to astronauts to grad students to entrepreneurs, speakers join camps to share their stories, and to show the vast possibilities that exist for tech.  Some of these talks are even filmed in front of a live podcast audience and produced into our bespoke Techsetters podcast.
